The New Version of Sedex SMETA 7.0 Has Been Launched
SMETA 7.0 was launched on September 10, 2024, featuring significant changes such as enhanced worker protection, human rights, and transparency in the supply chain. According to Sedex’s transition policy, all initial and periodic audits scheduled on the Sedex Advance Platform after this date must be conducted according to the new SMETA 7.0 methodology. Follow-up audits to address non-compliance from SMETA 6.1 audits can be carried out until the end of 2025. It is advisable, and often mandatory, for manufacturers, especially those supplying major European brands, to confirm their compliance with the new version of the standard.
